Covid Stats for 07/03/20

Took a day off from reporting yesterday…as expected with the re-openings, case growth continues to climb…it’s all about managing the growth and finding the right combination of open/close that manages the spread…I think we all know we’re going to get it, it just about whether a hospital bed/ventilator will be available when and if, you need one. Hopefully, many of us wont.

The US day over day new case growth rate has been steadily increasing from around 1.25% per day to about 2.0% per day (i.e. there are 2% more new cases added each day), again, as expected with the openings.

Having said that, there are still some areas that are growing really fast. I’m still digging into the sources, but Missouri had a huge increase yesterday after several days of decline; still trying to answer the question: is it a reporting problem catching up, or an outbreak? Also, Massachusetts, which has done so well in managing the growth, had an uptick yesterday with more cases reported in a single day since the beginning of June. Or is it a reporting problem as they reported zero cases the day before? I think the reporting people are tiring also…lol!

Stay safe everyone!

US Summary

Note: The spike a couple days ago is because I added a couple groups (Veteran Affairs, Navajo Nation, Federal Prisons & US Military.)
