 Zeny's Pecan Tarts
1/2 cup Butter or Margarine, softened
1 - 3 oz package Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup All-purpose flour
1 Egg
3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 tbs Butter or Margarine, softened
1 tsp Vanilla
Dash Salt
1/2 cup Pecans, coarsely chopped
 
For Pastry: In mixing bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup butter and softened cream cheese.  Stir in the flour and mix
well.  Cover and chill mixture for 1 hour.

In small mixing bowl, stir together egg, brown sugar, 1 tbs butter, vannilla and salt until smooth; set aside.

Shape chilled pastry dough into 1 inch balls; place each ball in ungreased mini-muffin pan.  Press dough onto
bottom and sides of pan, spoon about 1 tsp of chopped nuts into each pastry lined muffin cup.  Fill each with
egg mixture.  Bake in 325 degree oven for 25 minutes or until filling is set.  Cool, remove from pans.
